What's the point of (something)?

This is a common phrase used to ask for the purpose of or reason for an action. If often implies that the speaker finds the action useless or pointless.

A: We're having another staff meeting? It's the third one this week!

B: I know! What's the point of having all these meetings if the boss isn't going to listen to anyone's ideas anyway?

何のために？ / 意味がある?

これはある行為の目的や理由を尋ねるときによく使われるフレーズである。多くの場合、話し手はその行動が無駄である、あるいは無意味であることを意味します。
